TO ANC!

TO ANC!

GOOD LUCK FOR TMR!!

To win is to conquer your mind.

Tomorrow, every teams participating will be prepared, bringing what "weapons"(knowledge) they have. READY TO GET ONTO THE "BATTLEFIELD"(competition). YES!! everyone. Everyone will have the knowledge they need, the equipment they need. What will make you all stands out most, is your mentality. You go for a COMPETITION TO WIN! Thats a fact. But to win what, that is your own choice. the fact that you are stepping onto a nationwide competition already proves you are a WINNER! Tomorrow is the day. Dont think about too much.GO IN!! DO YOUR BEST!! AND THATS THE THING EVERYONE OF US WOULD WANT TO SEE!! TO DO YOUR BEST IS TO CONQUER YOURSELF AND THATS THE ESSENCE TO WINNING.. Go in with that aura! that all others will fear and will amaze the judges. HAHA. GO IN THINKING YOU ARE THE PROEST!! YOU ARE GOING TO DO YOUR BEST and make everyone stares at you all with that WOW! feeling. AND Thats winning mentally. And that will differentiate the best from the good. Dont go in and jin zhang. cause if you jin zhang, what you have been training for all along will be reduced by half.. GO SCARE everyone with your aura. make them scared. but dun be scared by them.. JUST TELL YOURSELF THEY ARE ACTING! even if halfway through something crops out..WHATEVER..YOU ARE STILL THE BEST NO MATTER WHAT..haha..just dun let all this affect you, not even a bit. AND Dont be blinded by the glories cause YOU WILL BE THE GLORY! THE FAME!. HAHA. JUST BE WHO YOU THINK YOU ARE!! AND YOU WILL BE WHO YOU THINK YOU ARE! Thats the key to success.
Its ALL in the MIND As what weiye sir says.. HAHAHA.

......

I just want to tell the FAC TEAMS!! HAHA..Its not about winning actually!!! haha..contradicting ahh..my 1st para i said its abt winning. ITS ABT GOING IN WITH YOUR FRIENDS, WITH YOUR TEAMMATES and journey through this with them.this may be the last bit of the competition, but to be true it is the beginning of an endless journey..
To Conquer the Obstacles with your friends and never to leave them behind...that will be your best. And that will make you all THE BIG BIG WINNER TMR!! HAHA..to be true...i think You all are the biggest winner in each others heart already. Cause you all have found each other. HAHA.. go in with a humble mind, portray a condifent semblance, come out with a glorious smile and say" THIS IS MY BEST!!!" hahaha..

this post is dedicated to all 39/06 cadets since they are taking over soon.

i bet some of you must be smiling deep within your hearts that it is finally the time when you can take over and do many silly things that you have been desiring for. kicking up a small fuss, ordering cadets around, bullying cadets, not cutting fingernails and polishing boots, talk during foot drills and more. i'm sure you can name them yourselves. however, being a NCO comes with various responsiblities. life of a NCO is totally different from a cadet's. treasure it now while you are still a cadet for about 2 days?

if you really dislike a person holding this appointment, respect the appointment at least. you may dislike him/her for all kinds of reason but disliking his/her appointment as well does not make things any better for you. it has been proven that liking something is easier than disliking something. ACPC day is not a day for you to complain, dislike or even hate. it is a day for you to appreciate the privilege given to each and everyone of you to bring the corps to a higher level. complain, dislike or hate it will not bring the corps any further upwards. learn to love the day.

lastly, grumbling about your post will not make the world seem nicer to you in any sense. it will only cause you to hate SJAB more and more. it's a vicious cycle. learn to respect your appointment and fulfil the duties at least.

Cadet Drill Instructor Course 2008

I would like to congratulate the graduates of the recent Cadet Drill Instructor Course 2008. Well done to all the cadets from Nan Hua for passing the course.

After 3 hard days of training, our cadets who are now officially "lobsters" due to the sun, have finally passed out from the course. I am happy for everyone of you who have lasted through the trainings without falling out even though you were tired. Keep up the spirit and remember to spread what you have learnt to others in your squads, and in time, even your juniors.

Today, I was also honoured to be the reviewing officer for the passing out parade. It was a special passing out parade, which included advanced drills of marching in slow pace for march pass and an advance in review order. A graceful and beautiful passing out parade indeed, one that I seldom see in parades that I've been too.

Once again, congratulations and rest well. Hope that the course have inspired you all in drills.

Regards
CSM Tang Weiye

answers for question 11 have been printed out for everybody. send one representative to collect it from me.

Friday, March 14, 2008

hello. here to post all the cases done by fac teams tday. uhh, the nursings' cases were based on memory so yupp, sorry if i missed out anything.

case#1:
A and B were cycling at bukit timah nature reserve when A tripped over a rock and fell off. B got off to find help but was bitten by a snake.
Okay, basically this case they NORMALLY will have crush injury of more than 15min, and of course, snake bite. treatment usually is reassure A, do head-to-toe analysis, check for shock. Do not remove crush object if more than 15min. For B, try not to let casualty lie down(keeping wound below heart level), apply direct pressure if bleeding is severe, check for DRABC and do head-to-toe analysis.
case#2:
A was handling a machine when four of her fingers on her left hand were cut off. B saw this and fainted.
For A, collect the amputated parts ASAP, wrap with gauze, put in a plastic bag/foil, put in a plastic bag of ice. The stud(or idk what its called) apply direct pressure if there is severe bleeding, put gauze and secure with bandage. Check for DRABC, do head-to-toe analysis, and remember to check for shock(most likely present). For B, check for DRABC, most likely need cpr, do head-to-toe analysis, if no other injuries put in recovery position, reassure casualty.
case#3:
A put her finger into an electrical socket and collapsed. B saw it happening and went hysterical.
Remove danger by switching off the main. enter scene after 30s. For A, flood sites of injury with water(there will be burns at entry and exit wounds), check for ABC, do head-to-toe analysis. For B, try to calm her down, reassure her, ask for information. If B hyperventilates, regulate her breathing, with the use of paper bag if any.
case#4:
A just bought a bouquet of flowers and was about to cross the road when a car knocked him down and drove away. His wife, B, witnessed this and hyperventilated.
If possible, note down the car plate number. Barricade the area by asking someone to park his car a distance away to block out any oncoming vehicles. For A, check for neck deformities(suspected spinal injury) and DRABC. Do not stop treatment even though he is most probably dead. For B, regulate the breathing with/without use of paperbag, and reassure her.
case#5:
A owes a group of loan sharks money. B is one of the loan sharks and when demanding the debts, he cut off A's left ear and pushed him down the stairs. B fainted at the sight.
Collect the knife first. For A, treat amputated left ear and apply direct pressure to the bleeding wound. Apply ear bandage. Check for neck deformities(suspected spinal injury) and conduct head-to-toe analysis and do fullbody immobilisation if necessary. Check for DRABC. Reassure casualty. For B, check for DRABC. Do head-to-toe analysis on the casualty. Reassure casualty.
case#6:
A was raped by B and slashed B's abdominal area with a knife. A later attempted to run away but slipped and knocked her head.
Try to cover the victim with a blanket(prevent modesty). For A, check for DRABC and head injuries. Do head-to-toe analysis as there might be bleeding at other parts of the body. For B, there might be protruding intestine. If there is, cover with plastic foil. If wound is horizontal, you can bend/elevate his lower limb. If it is a vertical wound do not elevate. Check for DRABC and conduct head-to-toe analysis.

the rest are cases done by ambulance im not very sure of the standard treatment but i TRY okay(:
case#7:
A was running during an annual school marathon when he suddenly felt weak and collapsed onto the ground. The day was noticed to have a much higher temperature than normal days. His friend B witnessed the incident and went over to help but he tripped over a kerb.
Move casualties to sheltered area. For A, most likely he's suffering from heat stroke so just cover with wet blanket and remove if he starts shivering/every 10min. Replace with dry blanket. Continue replacement of blanket until temperature falls under normal range. Check for any deformities/shock etc. For B, do head-to-toe analysis. He might have a dislocation/ fracture/ sprain somewhere at his lower limb or maybe abrasions. So immobilise/ apply cold compress if necessary.
case#8:
Class 2B was playing football in their classroom. A, being inexperienced, kicked too hard and hit on the fan. The fan dropped on A immediately. His friend, B, witnessed the accident and had an asthma attack.
For A, check how long the fan has been on the casualty, if more than 15 min then do not remove, if less than 15 min remove. Check ABC, do head-to-toe analysis, reassure casualty. For B, try to look for his inhaler, regulate his breathing, reassure casualty.
case#9:
A, in an attempt of suicide, crossed the AYE along NUS high school. The time was noted to be 7.30am. B, who was driving along at the same time, braked at a force huge enough to topple his cup of hot coffee over his thighs. A flew a distance of 6m.
Barricade the area(possibly using the car of a passerby). For A, check for neck deformities(to confirm spinal injury) and check for ABC. Conduct head-to-toe analysis. If suffering from spinal injury, do fullbody immobilisation. For B, reassure casualty, douse burned area with cool water for at least 10min, check for other injuries.
case#10:
A was cutting some vegetables for dinner. He accidentally chopped off his finger and was bleeding profusely. His brother B, witnessed the whole incident and fainted.
Collect and treat amputated part. For the stud(??) on A's hand, apply direct pressure. Cover with gauze and secure with bandage. Check for other injuries. For B, check for ABC, after which check for other injuries.
case#11:
A is a gay rapist and targetted B in a dark, stormy night. After the rape, A attepmted to kill B using a lonng metal rod. However, a sudden flash of lightning struck the rod and A fell onto the ground. B, on the other hand, was in a delirious state.
Enter scene after 30s, if possible try to remove casualty to a safer place. Check for ABC for A, and do head-to-toe analysis. Flood entry and exit wounds with water for at least 10min. For B, reassure casualty, conduct head-to-toe analysis, monitor pulse and breathing rate. Check for shock.

okayy, thats about it. i think there might be some errors in the treatments so anyone can just tell any admin ppl of this blog so we can change thankyou!(:

GOLD!!!

GOLD FOR CAA!!

I must say, its through the hard work of EVERYONE of YOU that makes it possible.
It is not done solely by your seniors or what.. EVERYONE PLAYS AN IMPT ROLE in this achievements. AND SERIOUSLY..without all your devotion, this will not be made possible. Its the effort you put in to come for every single parade.. your efforts into participating all sorts of events that make it real...
Flag Day, Walkathon, FAC.. EVERYTHING counts.. and EVERYONE had had played an impt part in these EVERYTHING!!!

3 Cheers For EVERYONE!!!

But at the same time we shouldnt be complacent. We should continue to work hard and continue to fulfil this legacy. Its not difficult to get gold, but it would be hard to keep the gold..
So Lets Strive and continue to bring sjab to GREATER HEIGHTS!!!

p.s. and rmb not to be like other CCAs, We should not be too arrogant and start to critizise Other UGs. What For you get gold and start to have a bad attitude and character, GOLD would be NTH, useless??!! EGOTISTISM will only make ppl not respecting you and your UG? We are still under the same family of nan hua, and should cultivate good relationship with them. Make LOVE not WAR!! hahaha..we still need them for parade square and stuff. :)

hellos! this blog seems so dead not alive so i shall post sth here. uhh, be prepared to find yourself reading crap and wasting your precious time? lol
okayy, since the most recent event was cca ex, i shall talk/crap about it. uhh, a very beneficial way for us to learn how to cooperate? yupps. to me lahh, the whole thing was like a sort of very rush thing? cos we only knew of the plan a few days before and there were lesser rehearsals compared to last yr i think. very stressing for the i/cs. then they stress we also stress we stress they more stress. okayy that part sounds very not right wrong. lol.
anw, 3906, im glad the matter is resolved(it is right?) okayy. that was super random.

would you save my soul tonight. omg im super addicted to this song idk why. and the FIRE!! will remind me of toc team. esp kendric LOL. okayy another random sentence -.-

fac trainings coming up. jiayous everyone(: ohhyess, appealing for tuition for timing! i need them badly lol. anw help keep this blog alive yay(:

CCA Extravaganza

FIRE!!!!
Yep. I am here posting. My 1st post here yeah? hahaha. I must say ytd's CCA extravaganza is a job well done yeah? I dont think most of you all know. Ms yeo specially come to our static display to tell us our mobile display was nice. Haha. maybe thats what she says to every CCA. but still. its still pretty encouraging giving the fact that she has to come all the way from dont know where to our display to thank us right?? giving her size yeah?
Anyway. i wun be posting much here just some random stuff to comment abt. Basically right, I can tell all of you all put in alot of hard work into this event la..Although sometimes things just arent going your way but you all still pulled through it. you all didnt give up or in a way pon or something. you all know you all are part of this event and you all make the effort to come for every rehearsal. thats something to be proud abt.
However, there is something that you all need to think about la. Other than the scratches on the trophies, the speed of moving the benches and taking initiative is also something to be improved on. I know that at certain times, the i/c's instruction might not be clear or something, but you all just say you all know and continue with the stuff la.. in the end everything goes haywire.. At this situation, you all shld try to clarify your doubts with the i/c instead of doing wrong things over and over again. cause this will delay the whole thing. I/C should also be more alert and oversee the whole thing. I know this is the 1st time you all are running this event, but as i/c, you job is to ensure that EVERYTHING runs smoothly, and not that for SOMETHING to run smoothly only, that is, you all must think of the big picture. sometimes i see you all just helping out at one station and forget abt your job as an i/c. This is something to be improved on.
The speed of moving the obstacles are also not up to standard. This depicts either you all are not physically fit enough or you all just didnt put your heart in to do it. I am sure that the 2nd possibility is certainly not the case. So try to train up on your physical fitness. Like for guys you all can try doing pull ups during your free time and stuff. Its about discipline; do you all care abt improving yourself for your better good.
As for others that are not i/cs. Obey the instructions given by your i/c. at point where time is concern. just do wadeva they ask you all to do. Dont make things difficult for them. Dont sabo your i/c. At times where I/C asked you all to do things that is you all dun like to do, dont think that they are saboing you. To get the job done is their 1st priority.
You all also have to try to be more vocal and be more confident. Have the initiative to talk to the sec 1s 1st instead of them asking you questions 1st. They wont be that bold to start a converstation with you., so you all must take initiative. Try to make them feel welcome. Explain to them the things and try to attract them into sjab.

Anyway, its still a job well done. thats what i think. At least it runs smoothly with little hipcups. Sec 2s, time to prepare for your BFA exam and good luck! you all will be wearing uniform soon and you all must rmb you all are no longer sec ones. The incoming sec ones will look up to you as seniors and set good examples for them. As for sec 3s, you all must also set a good examples for the sec 1s. And for FAC teams, good luck for you training.

Oooya, for people who don't know, there are cases whereby some people of a cca has been talking bad things, or if i phrase it this way, mocking our CCAs. If any of you all really face all this problems, DO NOT have the mindset of trying to make revenge and start saying their ccas too. In any way, we are still an uniform group, a group where discipline is an important aspect. Just approach any of your seniors and we will take necessary actions. No worries, SJAB will nv be seen as a CCA that can be bullied. Instead, those that are passing negative remarks are actually bringing shame to their own CCAs.

HAHAHA
