Announcement of the First Aid Competition teams will be on 31st December 2007. Please do make sure you are able to come on that day.

The purpose of coming is not to confirm whether you are selected or not, but also due to the fact that everyone is part of the CCA extragavanza and a proper rehearsal is needed to ensure that the event runs smoothly on the actual date itself.

First Aid Competition Camp 2007 (17-19 Dec 2007)

It's been 3 days of tough training and we all know it has not been easy. We are all happy to see all those who turned up and all the effort that you all have put in to learn whatever you can within this limited time. It's been tiring for everyone here I believe, and I think you all can do with a good rest for a few days as the season holidays are here. Do not eat too much and take care of your own health. Rest enough and also take some time to keep yourself fit! haha.

Anyway, I believe you all have learnt a lot during this 3 days and hope that we have done enough to give you all a good idea of what it's like to be in a FAC team. Do remember however, that no matter what the results are, and who are in the competition teams, you are all still one squad, one corps. We don't ever give up on our friends or cast them aside no matter what happens to us or to them. Help each other out and look out for one another, no matter how tired you are and how uncomfortable you may feel. That way, you all will remain bonded as one. Well done to those who done well and for those who didn't do very well, don't take it too hard. Take some time to get familiar or used to the new knowledge. You guys will make it so long as you all don't give up.

If you face any difficulties or questions, pls do not hesitate to contact us by email or call. We would be more than happy to be of service. Merry Christmas in advance to everyone here too.

Regards,
Weiye

to e pp whom it may concern...
well i/we hav gone through e training and I NOE how it feels and WE NOE wad u pp are feeling now i hav nthing much to say on e stuffs tt happened on e 2nd day and we cant do much too. its U and its up to U on how U wanna plan ur life and how U wanna spend UR time in SJ. The following is just MY experience and its up to U to plan ur next step.
In sec1 when i started on the TOC journey i knew it was gonna be e hardest thing i hav ever gone through so far in 13yrs.
The training was going to push mi beyond my limits both mentally and physically.
The training was going to bond the 4pp standing beside mi shoulder to shoulder together.
The training was going to end up with a TEAM coming ut feom the other side.
The word TEAM is not to be used lightly...i cant explane it here. U must experience it yourself to noe wads e true defination.
The training was indeed VERY tough and numerous pp had thought of giving up BUT we did not and we pulled through and emerged not as any normal 5 students but a TEAM which can work as ONE. Working as ONE explanes everything we did every action we did during the training was to help e person beside u because only by doing that that U can pull through. Having e mentality of "I must make it through" will not work it need to be "WE must make it through" only then will u make it and come out stronger then ever.
What im trying to tell ur is IT IS POSSIBLE to go through this training. Many cadets had gone through and emerged as a TEAM so why cant U?it IS POSSIBLE and e 1st thing u must do is to believe in urself. If pp can do it y cant u? :)
heh yep and since ur in SJ now might as well make the most of e time u have here?yeah :D
tts all i can say e rest is up to u and u might think the following sentence that im going to say is STANDERED coz everyone says it but if u rilli go try it out it actually works:)
"ITS ALL IN THE MIND"*

i want to address our 3906 ambulance): i was totally shocked when i found out only 1 out of 6 of your went for toc training lahh.(okay, some of you have valid reasons) like, you know how happy i(and many others) were when we heard all of your went for your first toc training? now your pour cold water on us by ponning the next one. i know maybe the first toc training freaked your out or sth, or for some of you, your sustained injuries from the first training. BUT your can still at least come for the training right. and see what you can do abt it. it beats not coming at all. your need your trainings in order to make cca ex a success. and its not a one-man show. if for every training only one of you turns up, what you want to train? it may be physically overwhelming but as long as your have teamwork and endure the whole thing together your can do it. seniors have been through it and they came out strong; your can also. not only toc trainings, even normal parades, dun pon. you have a whole squad waiting for your to make full attendance possible. show them your mental strength, show them your bonding, show them you can do it. for 3906.

okayy i shall stop here in case i get murdered for posting this =x ohhyahh anw, those who haven confirm your attendance for bbq on 28dec pls update leonghuimin asap so tt necessary arrangements can be made. dun let her go crazy over these stuff. i want a normal leonghuimin LOL (:

to the people who have played truant on the 2nd TOC training (the people ought to know who they are):

lets see why it is not a good idea to skip trainings for no rhyme or reason.

  1. the time of the planning committee will be wasted entirely. just imagine you are of the organisers and none of the people turn up for your event.
  2. when you discontinue a training, your attitude towards the training deteriorates. you will feel even less willing to turn up for future events because your level of pessimism increases.
i know you have not expected to sustain from minor injuries (e.g. blisters, etc); thus when you experience this yourself, you feel that it is not worth your time attending it since it has negative effects on your body. you have to understand that it is normal to experience such effects because for many of you, it is your first time performing such tough regimes. i can assure you that as time pass by, you will grow physically and mentally stronger and experience less injuries.

it is also expected that some of you dislike the way the trainers act because it appears that they are not doing as much as you all and may appear to be sarcastic in their words. but may i remind you that the roles of trainers and trainees are entirely different. surely you won't expect a teacher to do homework like a student does, am i right? the same analogy goes for the above example. if the trainers were to undego similiar regimes, the purpose of the training is defeated. they are there to supervise your trainings and ensure that you are doing the exercises correctly for the best outcomes. do remember that they have once gone through such phase and have come thus far.

perhaps, you may explain that you have already lost the passion in SJAB. well, the decision lies in you whether if you believe that your stay here will be worthwhile. it beats no point to tell you the benefits or perhaps rationale unless you have the heart to accept it.

rest well and may you be there the following training.

Hello SJABNHC members

the blog has finally been revived by me after it has been left forsaken for about a year plus. i must stress the reason for the revival of this blog is to facilitate the communication between the NCOs and cadets. this is indeed important to sustain a reasonable level of understanding between both parties. therefore, this blog serves as a bridge for communication between the two levels.

firstly, the membership of the blog will be entitled to ALL members of this corps. however, you have to provide me with your email address by sending it to sjab_nhc@hotmail.com. this email will be checked every night so as to ensure the steady process of granting you a membership. selected NCOs and cadets will be informed that they will be granted a higher level of membership in this blog, and that is the role of the administrator. basically, the administrator will carry out occassional updates (e.g. designs, information on achievements, etc) as well as to monitor a certain level of order within this blog. he/she will have the right to discontinue the membership of anyone in this blog as long as he/she is found misusing the privilege (e.g. usage of offensive language towards anybody, etc).

secondly, you are allowed to post anything that is related to this CCA, be it your thoughts, opinions, suggestions and even complaints. however, as mentioned, you are to set out your tone in an appopriate manner so as to ensure that nobody gets offended. permission is also granted for you to post any notice (e.g. chalet, parade/trainings, outings, first aid / footdrill notes, etc) or questions for the benefit of everybody in this corps. the blog belongs to you, thus it is to your own advantage that you use to the maximum.

thirdly, the blog is currently undergoing a series of updates (e.g. designs, layouts, etc) as the final template has not been decided. you are invited to post any suggestions on this blog so as to improve its quality. your suggestion may not just be on the topic of colours, fonts or layouts. however, you can also give your suggestions on the type of information to be displayed here (e.g. first aid quiz, etc). in fact, this blog is just like a shout out box for everyone of you!

lastly, i am currently working and thus updates will only be carried out only during the weekends when i am free. if you would like to be linked, please do also email your blog link to the above email address. meanwhile, enjoy your stay here. :D

P.S. it is okay if you crap here, as long as it is a friendly crap. :D
